The History of Aurora City
The municipality was originally known as the city of Fletcher, from the businessman named Donald Fletcher who saw Aurora as an opportunity for resource and business development. As the years passed by in the 1900’s, its population slowly grew and people began calling the area the city of Aurora. It is famous for its silver mining, railroading, and banking trades. This attracted a lot of American investors, which helped boost the Colorado economy. It is also the home of military facilities such as the infamous Fitzsimons Army Hospital build in 1921. After a decade or so, Aurora has been prosperous and its people paved way the development of highway constructions and modern infrastructures.

This event allows fun-loving people to watch and smash pumpkins in an entertaining way. Future innovation of pumpkin catapults are always a must see every year. Aurora reservoirs also stages different events and tournaments. It varies by month and tourney structure. It involves archery, trout fishing, fall fishing, and even a goose race.
